Something should be said for 6:30 AM
Four coyotes crossed the yard, sniffing and hopping and poking for food. Two with sharp ears and eyes, two with fluffy soft tails.
Tilly and I stood at the window and watched silently until she could no longer contain herself. Her whines and dancing attracted the attention of sharp ears even with a "hush" from me.
She raced from window to window and now paces from door to door looking for a way to visit the littlee doggies in the field .
She pounces the exact same way as the little coyotes when she is hunting field mice.
They are gone, she is still wishing to run with them.
I couldn't let her go, when she is on a scent she no longer hears me when I call her back. Now she gathered up a few of her toys and is laying with her head on them like a lumpy pillow and sad eyes.
I think she needs a kitten. or maybe I need a kitten.
and a bird, and a couple of goats, and a cow with a calf, and two horses, and chickens, two geese and a couple of ducks, a bunny or two, and a pig. a hive full of honey, two apple trees, an apricot tree, tree italian prune trees, and a weeping willow. A securely fensed garden for tomatoes and corn and potatoes and peppers. Down by the lane a couple of walnut trees, some asparagas, and in the bog a stand of jerusalem artichokes. While I am dreaming, let's have some cattails and redwing black birds. Red raspberries, blueberries, and marionberries, how about some walla walla sweets, and some garlic, lavender, and flax.
Ugh, now I need a gardener, a pruner, a picker, a weeder, a compost pile......lets just go to Saturday Market. And unseed some cat tails and let the birds come. |
